Northern Synk’maa: Cities and Towns

Pohjantupa - Farthest North

An old mining town on the eastern shores of the lake Depths, on the roots of the Ever-Winter Mountains. It once was abundantly rich in gold, silver and other valuable minerals, until the monstrous, nameless creatures sleeping in the undiscovered mountain caves woke up and began their relentless assaults on the miners and the town itself. After expelling the miners away and halting the excavations, the monsters withdraw back to the dark, still ready to attack again if the townsfolk were to resume digging. Now Farthest North is just a withering shadow of its former glory, a sad dying ghost town, only populated by the most stubborn individuals.

Kaukainen - Far Away

One of the most derelict and isolated cities of Synk’maa, second only to Fartherst North, the only neighbor on the continent. Long before there was even a thought of a proper municipality or kingdom, the few people of Northern Synk’maa inhabited the area where Far Away is now located. The development of colonies during the past centuries has been slow, and sometimes even at full standstill, due to the location and cold, harsh environment. Today, Far Away is a surprisingly prosperous city, as its citizens are sturdy, strong survivors with wills of iron, proud of their achievements and history.
